About this event
New for 2026 is a regular gravel/adventure series, 2-3 times a month on Sunday mornings. Routes will vary from introductory to "spicy", generally running from 15 to 50 miles in length. Terrain will consist of a mix of mostly dirt/gravel, minimal tarmac connecting roads, and occasional sandy sections or singletrack. RwGPS navigation files will be provided for each ride...
The resumption of the gravel series takes us southwest, where we'll explore the gravel roads near Karlin, Copemish and Thompsonville. The route originates from the parking lot at the Platte River Fish Hatchery off of US-31, and loops clockwise for approximately 49 miles. There's a Dollar General convenience store in Thompsonville, which we'll hit for a cold drink around mile 34. 75/25 gravel to tarmac, and pushing 50 miles places this in the moderately difficult category. Not too technical, but it's summer so you'll want an extra water bottle and maybe some energy snacks. Call it a 7 out of 10...
