What is this?
A Northport to Traverse City ride. We will take a BATA bus to Northport then ride the roads in Leelanau County and the Tart Trail back to Traverse City.
We will take the BATA bus (bus route #10) to Northport. From there we will take M-22 along the west side of the peninsula to North Eagle Hwy. Right onto Dean Rd. Until we rejoin N. Eagle Hwy. We will continue south to Lake Leelanau. We can stop for coffee and munchies at the Pedaling Beans Coffeehouse (depending on interest). After the stop, we will continue on Lake Leelanau Drive south to Fouch Road. Take a left there and continue east to the Tart Trail. Right onto the trail back to Traverse City. This ride is limited to the first 8 riders due to the limited number of bikes the BATA bus can transport. Please contact the ride leader by phone or email if you intend to ride or if you have questions about the ride. The ride should finish by 2 p.m.
The one-way fare to take the bus to Northport is $3.00. The reduced fare for those 60 years and older is $1.50 (picture ID is required for the reduced fare). Please bring exact change as the bus drivers do not provide change.
Distance: Approx 30
Pace:
12 to 16 mph; We will ride in groups and regroup as needed.
Terrain:
North of M-204 is hilly. South of M-204 is mainly flat.
