Second Annual Recycle-A-Bicycle Bike Swap Another Success
Even with the pouring rain last Saturday, June 2, turn-out was good for the bike swap. There were over 170 used bikes brought in by the community to sell. About 90% sold. Numbers were down a little this year, but the quality was up. The Old Town Parking Garage was a good to test ride the bikes out of the weather. It was a real joy to watch folks test ride several bikes and then pick their favorite - many smiling faces. A good crowd was on hand at the opening and inventory was seriously depleted within an hour. Knowledgeable volunteers were available to answer questions, size bikes and adjust seats. Chris Remy and Ed Parker helped with any needed mechanical repairs and City Bike Shop had helmets and bike locks for sale. Thank you to all the volunteers for making this another successful swap!
